Thanks to the book donations by members of the local Russian-speaking community, the NRCC library is open on premises on Saturdays.  We hope that the Russian-speaking community will make frequent use of this library.

 

The library fund of about 1,000 publications in Russian is available for a wide range of Russian-speaking readers. It includes literature works for adults and children, journals and magazines. The library is also a valuable resource for those, who is interested to learn Russian language, as well as who want to read Russian novels in English.

 

Join our Book Club as we have a great time analyzing the books and hanging out with friends. Treat yourself to a glass of wine and tasty refreshments.

Place where women make new friends.  By joining our club you get to meet fun-loving ladies who may well become your new best friends. 

Our activities include luncheons, discussion groups, wine tastings, and social get-togethers. It doesn't matter if you're single or married, 20 or 60, all women who are looking for friendships are welcome here.

Elena Nikolaenko, Icon painter, will give a presentation on Byzantine art and Christianity. Formation of Byzantine Empire, the rise of Christianity, the first Christian basilica and icons, first icons of the Russian State, the flourishing of icon painting in Russia, development of icon-painting schools in Russia.

 

Nikolaenko Elena graduated from the Russian Christian Humanitarian Academy, department of icon painting, and Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, the department of academic drawing.  The author of articles on the Christian art of the journals "The Problem of Science" and "Internauka 2019", author of articles on the Christian art of the international conference Moscow, 2019.  She participated in exhibitions of the icon painting section of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg, 2019 and exhibitions of the icon painting section of the Russian Christian Humanitarian Academy 2018 and 2019.

 

An event of intrigue and style that brought you to experience a One of a Kind collection made by local women! The club meeting will start with a networking session with beverages and light bites (bring something to share).  The second part of the event will feature the presentation of innovative fashion show.  Ladies, who made their own fashion designs, will demonstrate them in couture runway show style.  

While in Prague last winter, she collected more than 100 hand crafted Bohemian Czech glass perfume bottles. They are really beautifull and some have very intricate workmanship with additional gems and metal work.  Elena could also talk about the health benefits essential oil perfumes have over synthetic and alcohol based fragrances and how that effects women's health.

	Children's Poetry Theater "Express" Rehearsals: Mondays, 5:45pm-6:30pm, Performance: Saturday, 2pm Tuition: $40 Teacher: Marina Vaysberg Class for children from 5 to 8 years old. Students will perform poetry plays based on the Russian popular poems for children.
	Russian Character Dance School Saturday, Time: 12:00pm-1:00pm, 1:00pm-2:00pm Wednesday: 6:00pm-7:00pm, 7:00-8:00pm Tuition: $200, 10 sessions. Instructor: Vladimir Nikitin Introduction to character dance. Dancers learn body placement, intricate rhythms, and folk dance steps. At the end of this 10 week session a dance will be choreographed and staged by the class.

Free “Mommy & Me PlayTime” Program, Saturdays Noon - 2pm Upon parents request the New Russia Cultural Center is offering a free playtime for the Russian-speaking residents and their children, ages from infant, preschool, to any grade of school. The program “Mommy & Me PlayTime” takes place on the center’s premises on Saturdays from Noon to 2pm. It is parents’ initiative and parents will run the playtime program. Program does not have an instructor. Parents are responsible for their own children. No registration needed. The center’s administration is happy to support the playtime activities. Three rooms upstairs are available to accommodate variety of activities for children and their parents. Children music will be play, toys, art and crafts supply, children books will be available. Possible playtime activities: Playing and socializing: It’s could be great time for children to play and to socialize for moms while children are playing in a pleasant, safe environment. Storytelling: It’s could be a story time to give children an opportunity to increase their love of books and reading, as well as develop important social skills. Art and crafts: It’s could be enjoyable creative activities. One of the best ways to connect with children is to be creative with them.
