Volunteers make our Russian Winter Festival possible. The Festival is a month-long event. From planning to clean-up, each step and event of the Festival operates through the help of dedicated, creative people who donate their time and talents. We have volunteer assignments to fit many interests and schedules. Decide on the type and level of commitment you'd like to make.
We need volunteers for the following events:
Russian Poetry Recital Contest - February 1 1pm - 2:30pm
2 volunteers needed
Tchaikovsky Music Competition Piano Division - February 8 10am - 1pm
1 volunteer needed
Tchaikovsky Music Competition Vocal Division - February 8 1:30pm - 2:30pm
1 volunteer needed
Tchaikovsky Music Competition String Division - February 8 3pm - 4pm
1 volunteer needed
All Winners Concert and Awards Ceremony - February 15 1:30pm - 2:30pm
1st - Master of Ceremony
2nd - Assistant of MC
Grand Finale - February 29 11am - 5pm

Volunteers Assignments at the Grand Finale
Most shifts are 3 hours long. It is not guaranteed that you will be placed at your desired assignment, but we will do our best. We reserve the right to change or alter assignments due to scheduling needs. All volunteers are encouraged to dress in ethnic attire. For ladies; if you do not have a sarafan, then put on a long skirt and a Russian scarf. Russian headsets (Kokoshnik) will be provided.
Admission Tickets Sale - responsible for the receipt of payments of incoming door sales of admission tickets
Food Court:
Cashiers - responsible for the receipt of payments of food sale
Food servers -serving food at the food service line
Kitchen helpers - warming up food in the ovens in the kitchen
Clean Up - roam food court area clearing tables and collecting trash
Information Table - to provide general information to the festival visitors on activities, schedules, administration, lost and found.
Photo Booth - assisting patrons to dress up in Russian traditional costumes
Soviet Posters Sale - sale of small posters at the Soviet Posters Exhibition
Children Craft Table - assist with crafts activities
Set up & Clean up - set up and place event signage
Greeters - welcoming and directing guests to various Festival activities, distributing the festival programs.
All volunteers are required to attend the Volunteers Orientation Meeting prior to the Grand Finale.
