Barynya. The festival’s headliner is a folk ensemble “Barynya” from New York, NY. It’s a well-known group that enjoys exalting stature as the premier Russian folk ensemble outside of Russia. Barynya presents Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Jewish and Gypsy Roma traditional dancing, music, songs, and virtuoso performances on instruments including the balalaika, garmoshka (Russian folk button accordion), Gypsy guitars, domra and violin. Founder of the group Mikhail Smirnov is hosting all performances by giving a short explanation of every number of the program in English. The ensemble performed at the Russian Winter Festival in the Capital Region in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017.
Kaleidoscope. Children Dance ensemble "Kaleidoscope", Brooklyn, NY, provides a selection of thrilling and colorful Russian folk dancing, enchanting Russian folk music. Group performs Russian, Ukrainian, Gypsy, Armenian and Georgian folk traditional dances.

"The 3rd Rifle Division of Red Army” reenacting group portrays a typical platoon of a Russian rifle division in the Great Patriotic War. By researching the history of the Russian infantrymen the group attempts to recreate the trials and tribulations of the soldiers of the Red Army, as well as teach the public about the life and times of the people and time period.
Traditional Russian Costumes and Photo Booth. Russian traditional costumes for women, men and children to dress up and take photos.

Blini – Russian pancakes with red caviar, jam or sour cream.
Golubtsy. Cabbage leaf stuffed with beef & rice, served with baked piroshky.
Kotlety a La Rus. Chicken grilled to perfection, layered with tomato covered with melted cheese. Served with oven-baked piroshki.
Russian Cakes. Flaky pastry layers generously filled with sweet cream filling.
Russian Tea. The samovar is an important attribute of Russian households and taverns to tea-drinking.
