11th Annual Tchaikovsky Music Competition! 
tchaikovskyRussian composers have created some of the most beautiful and powerful classical music.  Here are some of the big names… In the 19th century, a group called the “Mighty Five” (Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Balakirev, Borodin, and Cesar Cui) banded together and made their goal the promotion of purely Russian music.  Tchaikovsky is regarded as the most popular Russian composer, and even "the most Russian" composer.  
The music competition is open for contestants of all ages and consists of three divisions: piano, vocal and violin. Each division has three age levels: children, teens and adults.  Compatition Flyer click here.

- Tchaikovsky Music Competition open to musicians from age 6 through 21and vocalists of all ages. - Contestants will perform a piece written by any Russian composer.
- Each performance will be judged by a panel of three music educators.
- Winners will be selected from each level and awarded at All Winners Concert and Awards Ceremony.
- All prize Winners must agree to perform their pieces at the All Winners Concert.

All Winners Concert and Award Ceremony!
The winners of three divisions will perform Saturday, February 15 2020 at 1:30pm at the All Winners Concert during the Grand Finale of the Russian Winter Festival at the New Russia Cultural Center, located at 1550 Broadway Rensselaer NY 12144.  All music enthusiasts are welcome to come and witness the musical talent of these young Capital Region musicians.
