Cake Master class

Thursdays, November 9 - November 23
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

In this hands-on class, you will learn how to make marvelous cake—an elegant and distinctively decorated masterpiece suitable for the most special of occasions. In this program taught by Anna Heller, cake specialist, you’ll learn the important steps of preparing and assembling the perfect cake. Learn the latest design and detail techniques; develop a deeper understanding of cake preparation. You’ll learn how to bring your creations to life using classic techniques, as well as advanced methods that allow you to go beyond basic flavors and textures to create truly amazing cakes.


Each class begins with a brief discussion of recipes and techniques. Then, you’ll roll up your sleeves and get to work, learning how to:

  • Cake batter basics
  • Frosting fundamentals
  • Key cake decorating techniques
  • Miniature and multi-level cakes
  • Candied flowers, meringues and chocolate decorations
  • Sugar paste flower creation

 After class, you’ll eat cakes and/or bring home, as well as the proper techniques and recipes to sweeten any of your future occasion.  The program includes a session of three classes. Cooking classes are 2 hours.   Class size is restricted to 6-8 participants due to space limitations of the center’s kitchen.   The Center covers the cost of all supplies.  The recipe list includes 3 recipes. Handouts of the recipe list will be distributed on the day of the class.
