Violin Division

Tchaikovsky Music Competition 2018 Violin Division!

Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful and powerful classical music.  Here are some of the big names… In the 19th century, a group called the “Mighty Five” (Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Balakirev, Borodin, and Cesar Cui) banded together and made their goal the promotion of purely Russian music.  Tchaikovsky is regarded as the most popular Russian composer, and even "the most Russian" composer.

The Violin Division will be held at the Center's Concert Hall on Sunday February 4th, 2018 starting at 2:00pm. The Piano Division open to pianists from age 6 through 18.  Contestants perform a piece of music written by any Russian composer.
