Dance Program

dance 225 180This summer, “travel the world” with the magic of International Character Dancing! 

The New Russia Cultural Center has been offering Summer International Character Dance Program in the Capital District with a clear goal to provide a educational, cultural, fun enriching experience for the kids, and a convenient, affordable options for their parents. Cultural Awareness Through Dance! We promote International Character Dancing along with the rich customs and traditions of various countries from around the world. 

Open to children looking for a fun and social exploration of dances from around the globe. Line, Circle, and Couples’ Folk Dances from Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Polish, Greece, Israel, Irland, and The United States are explored. Children will learn about different world music styles, rhythms, and universal dance step patterns.

We invite your child to join us this summer filled with fun and interactive cultural oriented activities: dance, art and Russian language. By using the language, speaking is emphasized and taught through lessons, games, songs, and fun activities. Whether your child is shy, outgoing, or somewhere in-between, the New Russia Cultural Center’s innovative summer program helps each child enjoy cultural learning.

Snip20180410 23Dance Instructor - Vladimir Nikitin.  Russian character and ballet dancer, currently is involved in the New York based, world renowned group Russian folk ensemble  Barynya. Vladimir arrived to the United States of America from Kazan, Tatarstan. In 2011 he graduated from Kazan University of Culture and Art, choreography department.  In  2011-2015 Vladimir was a soloist in the dance ensemble "Kazan" in the city of Kazan. In 2009-2015 he was an invited soloist of the Great Russian Nutcracker company touring in the US.  In Spring  2018 Vladimir starts the Russian Children Dance Ensemble at the New Russia Cultural Center. This new Russian folk ensemble for children presents international character dancing, including Russian, Cossack, Siberian, Ukrainian, Roma Gypsy, Jewish traditional dancing.
