The Heritage Awards Dinner event is to celebrate and pay homage to those who have enriched the community and established a legacy in the Russian-speaking community in the Capital Region of New York State.

Nominations for the awards will be presented to individuals who excel in the following five areas:


Nominate a candidate for an award.  Send us a nomination letter at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for a Heritage Award explaining why your candidate should win the award.  The 2017 nominees will be announced by mid November  2017.  The winners will be selected by an adjudication committee and be awarded on December 9th 2017 at the Heritage Awards Dinner.  The event includes a cocktail reception starting at 5:00pm with life music Lu Bossa!, followed by the recognition program and piano concert, Russian style gourmet dinner buffet catered by Slavonian European Cafe, and music and dancing with live Lu Bossa!

All Evening Live Entertainment by  "Lu Bossa! "

lubossaLu Bossa! group is a premiere jazz/bossa nova band. Their repertoire consists of tunes in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French - jazz classics, bossa nova, Spanish ballad and French chanson.The band consists of vocalist Luba Lesser, who also plays light percussion, guitarist/vocalist Jason Kessler, and keyboard player, Darryl Pugh.

Luba began her voice studies in Moscow, Russia. Luba holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Syracuse University, and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She is an adjunct professor of voice at Onondaga Community College. Luba regularly performs classical and contemporary music recitals, English Renaissance programs with guitarist Jason Kessler, flamenco music with ‘Alegre Flamenco’, and Bossa Nova and other jazz/cabaret style music with her band ‘LuBossa!’.  In February 2015 Luba won first prize at the Vocal Music Competition, organized by the New Russia Cultural Center as a part of a month-long Russian Winter Festival in the Capital Region of New York State.

A Small Concert: Anna Keiserman, Piano

Anna KeisermanRODION SHCHEDRIN :  Two Polyphonic Pieces, Two-part Invention, Basso Ostinato

Anna Keiserman began her piano studies at age five and, at fifteen, made her concerto debut with Volgograd Symphony National Orchestra. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, Moscow. Today, she concertizes worldwide as a soloist and a chamber musician in the United States, Italy, Russia, and Ukraine. Anna is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Solo Piano Performance at Rutgers University, in the studio of Min Kwon.

Anna gave two successful music concerts at the New Russia Cultural Center: a solo concert "Russian Piano Masterpieces" on April 30 2017 and "Cello & Piano Duo" with Mark Prihodko on October 22 2017.
